3d Studio Max Modeling / Making 3d Tree in 3ds Max

Some people have asked me how I make 3d trees. I am really bad at making tutorials so instead I thought I'd just record making a 3d tree and post the vid, then answer any questions that may come up.

I don't always use this precise technique, so don't follow it as gospel, just use it as influence on how one might go about making trees this way.

The main aim here is to have the base model set up so that it can be easily manipulated to make a few different variations of the same tree.

One point I want to make is,,,
I use a random transform tool here, but don't always depend on random transformations, they are ok for small variation adjustments, but in the end it will always need some sort of human intervention to put things in the right place.

3d Studio Max Modeling / How to create bake Ambiente Occlusion in objects

In computer graphics, ambient occlusion is a shading and rendering technique used to calculate how exposed each point in a scene is to ambient lighting. The enclosed inside of a tube is typically more occluded (and hence darker) than the exposed outer surfaces, and the deeper inside the tube, the more occluded (and darker) it becomes. Ambient occlusion can be seen as an accessibility value that is calculated for each surface point.

In scenes with open sky this is done by estimating the amount of visible sky for each point, while in indoor environments only objects within a certain radius are taken into account and the walls are assumed to be the origin of the ambient light. The result is diffuse, non-directional shading effect throughout the scene, casting no clear shadows, but with enclosed and sheltered areas darkened and can affect tone. It is often used as a post-processing effect.

Developer's Diary / Milagres Karting Circuit [WIP]

Hello guys... That was the time... This is my first scratch made track with 3ds Max... My knowledge of Max is very limited by know so this will be a project to learn the most important techniques in Max too. The things that i know about program I've learned by myself readind and wathing tutorials. Us you can see in my Zandvoort conversion track I try always to reach the best quality possible and this project won't be diferent.

Hopefully these days we have amazing tools suplied by Mário Morais that help a lot to maximize the work and reduce the time. This project will take some take because of my learning process...
