The Bugatti Circuit by ECAR_Tracks

Previous Download | Next Download
Bugatti Circuit is a permanent race track located within Circuit des 24 Heures, named after Ettore Bugatti. The circuit uses a part of the larger circuit and a separate, purpose-built section. The sections of track on the Bugatti Circuit that are on the Circuit des 24 Heures include the Ford Chicane at the end of the lap, the pit complex, and the straight where the Dunlop Tyres bridge is located. At this point in the overlapping section of the tracks there is a left right sweep that was added for motorcycle safety in 2002. Vehicles turning to the left continue onto the Circuit des 24 Heures, toward Tertre Rouge and Mulsanne, vehicles turning to the right at La Chapelle will continue the Bugatti Circuit. The infield section features Garage Vert, a back straight, the 'S' du Garage Bleu, and Raccordement, which joins back at the Ford chacane.

The track was home base for Pescarolo Sport, founded by famous French driver Henri Pescarolo. The circuit also hosts the 24 Hours of Le Mans motorcycle race, and a round of the MotoGP Championship. The circuit also holds French motor club races and in the past has hosted rounds of the International Formula 3000 Championship and DTM (German Touring Car series).

As well as motor racing it is the venue for the 24 rollers, a 24h race on inline skates or quads.

The Bugatti Circuit was used for the 1967 French Grand Prix, and is the current host of the French motorcycle Grand Prix. It also forms the final round of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship, and was part of the World Series by Renault and 1988 Superbike World Championship seasons.

Track Building

This track uses CAD information which covers 80% of the track area and other information for elevation and geometry reference. It was modelled using a software called Datamine Studio (for geology and engineering) and then exported to 3ds Max in order to use ISI plugins. You might recognize some ISI textures in my track, as fences and tyre-barriers. And, some objects were "borrowed" from ISI tracks, to know:

    Stationary cars (park lots)
    Truck Foods
    Corner workers (marshals)
    Chemical toilets

All other objects like terrain, structures, posts, grandstands and buildings were made from very scratch and took me hours and hours of working so if you intend to convert or use some 3D vectors from this track be nice and contact For now, this track won't be release for other simulators. My "team" is only me nowadays.

My twitter:

Notes of v0.95
Unfortunately I'm still unfamiliar with *.rcmp update method so I apologize for this full download again.

Fixed "sinking" GMTs due some TDF file erros (cars jumping or sinking)
Fixed garage doors issue (now one team has 3 pit bails as real Le Mans track - all three doors will be opened when an single car of the team car is selected)
Fixed annoying line in distant trees textures due incorrect uvw mapping.
Changed mipmap bias of some blurred grass textures
    A bit improved gravel-tarmac transition
Remodeled Bridge on back straight and new textures for it.
Albedo map corrected for 9 track textures
    Few AIW corrections
Increased Clip Planes of several trackside cameras (*.CAM) due the incorrect clipping of far objects as horizon trees.
Renamed package to make easy finding.
Inserted current version in loading screen for better control.

Known issues v0.95

Materials and textures at first pass (some of them are placeholders).
    No spectators yet.
Some 3D kerbs have reversed geometry.
    Some textures mirrored in grandstands.
No optimization of shadows and track-side objects (coming next version). You may struggle a bit with performance (no issues with a 30 URDs cars grid tough - my machine = 4790K / 980 GTX). I've experienced few freezing with 358.87 NVIDIA drivers but they don't seem to be related to the track or the simulator themselves.
Slightly wrong elevation and track camber around Dunlop bridge (going to be fixed).
Crazy pit in / pit out lights (sorry we got a short circuit)
Not all of sponsors printed in the walls yet.
